Jag’s C-X75 hypercar to star in Spectre

Published: 09 Feb 2015

The Jaguar C-X75 is a car we very much like at TG. Or should we say liked. After teasing us with the tech details of the 900bhp hybrid, and even letting us have a go, Jag then pulled the plug on it, unable to make the money stack up. No one can own one.

No one, that is, except super-evil geniuses who want to take over the world. Jaguar has announced an orange C-X75 will be among the cast in the next James Bond epic, Spectre, and while details are scant, one quote all but confirms that the film's ne'er-do-wells will be behind the wheel.

That's because we're promised "a spectacular car chase sequence through Rome alongside the Aston Martin DB10", a car already confirmed as Bond's new company wheels. A car chase across Rome? An idea nicked from Top Gear, surely...

The C-X75 won't be the only JLR product on the big screen, either; a Range Rover SVR and some modified ‘Big Foot' Land Rover Defenders have been spotted at filming in Austria, the Landies aggressively equipped to negotiate some difficult terrain. Whether we'll see a production version as the Defender takes its final bow hasn't been confirmed...

It's a sweet deal for JLR's Special Operations team, and alongside the debut of Aston's stunning little DB10, patriotic pride should be high for British petrolheads when the film lands.

Excited? Which will you be rooting for, Jag or Aston?
