Hyundai reveals extreme Santa Fe for SEMA

It's the - deep breath - Rockstar Energy Moab Extreme Off-Roader Santa Fe Sport Concept

Published: 03 Oct 2017

It’s officially cold now. Are you sure your car can cope with fallen leaves on the school run? If not, perhaps Hyundai can help. Ahead of the SEMA show next month, Hyundai has teased its Rockstar Energy Moab Extreme Off-roader Santa Fe Sport Concept. What a mouthful.

Rockstar – of energy drinks fame – has teamed up with Hyundai to create the uber-rugged creation, designed to withstand demands of extreme off-roading in Moab, Utah, which is considered one of the most challenging off-road regions in the world. Bit much for the Home Counties, then.

“Leveraging the outstanding Santa Fe Sport platform and powertrain, we definitely pushed its capabilities to new limits to conquer the pinnacle of challenges at Moab,” said Nic Ashby from Rockstar Marketing.

The kit list for the Moab goes on and on, but includes six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers as part of a big brake kit, coil-over suspension with 2.5” internal bypass shocks and reservoirs, and 17in off-road bead-lock wheels. There are also Rockstar Performance Garage skid plates, a new bumper with a Warn winch, and a custom roof rack with Bulldog LED lighting. And a vehicle tent thrown in.

That’s all we know for now – we look forward to seeing what impression the Moab Extreme thingy will make at the show. Probably a big scary one.
