This four-door Koenigsegg Regera is excellent and not quite real

This isn’t the new four-door Koenigsegg we exclusively told you about last year. It is, in fact, a render of a four-door version of Koenigsegg’s 1,800bhp Regera. And therefore not real.

The image appeared on Koenigsegg’s Facebook page - sketched by @Nike_747 - with the caption: “What do you think of this rendering of a four-door Regera as a range-filler?”

Though Koenigsegg put up the render as a ‘bit of fun’, we know that company boss Christian is indeed considering a hyper-saloon for the future. One that could actually exist.

When pushed on the possibility of a four-door Koenigsegg last year, Christian told TopGear.com: “Yes, I can imagine a car like that. Maybe within the next five years, possibly earlier than that.”

Right now Koenigsegg is gearing up to build the Regera – that 1,800bhp, single-geared luxury hybrid hypercar – and further refining its cam-less engine. So any third-model in Christian’s range will be a while off production.

But for now, tell us: yay or nay for a Koenigsegg ‘saloon’? We suspect Bugatti might be interested...
