The Citroen C5 Aircross concept is the next-gen C5
Citroen showcases a future vision of the family SUV in Paris
A concept called the Citroen C5 Aircross is showcasing what the next-generation C5 will look like when it arrives next year.
Yep, we're getting a new C5. The C5 Aircross Concept looks decidedly different to the current generation model. It's got boxier body lines, a slightly longer body, a front end that takes on the fresh face of the recently launched C3, and a vertical rear end with "winged" rear lights (they help with the aerodynamics, apparently). It's undoubtedly bold.
It’ll be built on Stellantis’ medium platform, just like its siblings in the shape of the Vauxhall Grandland and the Peugeot 3008. That’ll mean petrol, hybrid and fully electric powertrain options.
Citroen boss Thierry Koskas tells us we should expect a range of about 422 miles (680 km) for the 100 per cent electric C5. Citroen reckons those ‘wing lights’ improve range by 18 miles (30 km) on the current gen.
Aside from telling us to expect a lounge-like interior, Citroen doesn’t give anything away about what’s going on inside the cabin… but that’s concepts for you. What do you think?
