The Ferrari 275 NART Spider didn't sell for £18m, which was probably the big news. But at RM Sotheby's Monaco sale, which took place this past weekend, many lovely cars sold for plenty of cash.
Not surprising, considering the cars on offer. A Renault 5 Turbo Group 4 sold for £375k, an Aston Martin DB AR1 went for £265k, and a lovely 911 RUF CTR went to just its third owner - who may or may not be as handy as the chap in that famous Yellowbird video - for just £176k.
But you want to know about the big hitters, don't you? Click on, and find the top sellers at RM Sotheby's sale. Counting down from ten...

Another 911, you groan. This one however, is a classic - a '73 RS, showing fewer than 30,000km on the clock and complete with a 210bhp, 2.7-litre flat six. It's recently been fully restored, gets a Porsche certificate of authencity, and sold with tools and all the original, German manuals.
9. 1939 Bugatti Type 57 Cabriolet by Gangloff - £520k
This classic Bug' was the 1939 Geneva motor show car, and the company demonstrator of Bugatti racing legend Jean-Pierre Wimille (he's the one who had a Veyron named after him). Features a straight-eight engine with 135bhp. Or whatever's left.

We can't explain how cool this Diablo really is. Oh wait, we did already. Read the full story here.
7. 1988 Porsche 959 Komfort Stage II - £706k
Yes Mr Wayne, it does come in black. In fact, it's one of just three 959s ever finished (from the factory) in black. It also handily comes with 585bhp, a couple of turbos and electronically controlled adjustable suspension. This one sold with the 'Stage 2' spec, and under 10,000km on the clock.
6. 1952 Ferrari 212 Inter Cabriolet by Vignale - £926k
Just four Inter Cabs were bodied by Vignale, and - yep, you guessed it - this is one of them. 170bhp, a 2.6-litre V12, all the documentation and a big tick from Ferrari's Classiche division. Lovely.
5. 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing - £971k
One of the last Gullwings to have come from a single family, we don't really need to say anything here because it's important and iconic and gorgeous and... oh, you get it.

This, the only Tucker in Europe, has just been treated to a four year restoration. All the better to appreciate that 160bhp, 335cu in flat sixer underneath. And those lines, too.
3. 1966 Ferrari 275 GTS by Pininfarina - £1.4m
This one was sold from a "significant private Ferrari collection", shows just under 24k on the clock, and has had "three caring, private enthusiasts" since new. All the better to keep that 3.3-litre V12 in good nick, then.

You probably stopped all cognitive capacity when we first told you about this car. Now you can't have it, because it sold for a lot of money. The new owner then, has quite a bit of kit: a car that's competed at Daytona, comes with more than 600bhp, and just two private owners from new. A road-legal, 911 GT1 racer, with a recent restoration in the UK.
1. 1951 Ferrari 340 America Barchetta by Touring - £5.7m
The 275 didn't sell, so this one takes the top spot. It competed in the 1951 and 1952 24 Hours of Le Mans, is the third of 23 340 America chassis built and the second of eight bodied by Touring. A V12-engined beauty.
