To celebrate the Mini’s 60th birthday, at this year’s Goodwood Members’ Meeting there was a special one-off mega Minitastic race. No less than 60 diddy pre-1966 racing Minis got together to form the Betty Richmond Trophy which promised to be one of the tightest and most exciting races of the weekend. It just so happened that one of those Minis was driven by our very own Chris Harris.

Not having driven a Mini since he first owned one 25 years ago, Chris grabbed the 130bhp, 600kg midget gem tin-top by the scruff of its next to skate around the fast-flowing circuit at an average of 90mph a lap. Which, considering the top speed is only 120mph, is a little bit terrifying.
