This classic 1996 Lotus Esprit V8 is up for auction
A twin-turbo, 3.5-litre Lotus supercar with less than 40k on the clock? Step this way
If the shape and badge of this car isn’t immediately bringing back memories of a certain videogame launched in the 1990s, then go play some old videogames. This is a Lotus Esprit V8, and it is up for auction.
It’s the twin-turbo V8 one, with 350bhp and a 0-60mph time of under five seconds. This particular Lotus Esprit V8 is showing just 39,700 miles on the clock, with “an extensive history file” showing things like a new oil pump, air-con compressor and wiring harness.
We’re also told it’s had subtle tweaks to the suspension, along with bigger brake discs both front and back. All nice and lovely. In fact, the current owner has had it for the last six years.
What a car though. Yes, gearboxes were rumoured to be troublesome, but hell, it’s got pop-up headlights, a meaty V8 with turbos, speed and an classic supercar shape. Plus it's red, with a cream interior.
Classic Car Auctions reckons this particular 1996 car will fetch between £28k and £32k. Fancy taking a gamble on a British classic?
