Citroen news - Citroen's Geneva stars - 2006
Citroen is getting some air at the Geneva show.
Don't worry, we won't see French motor industry execs busting some moves on skateboards, but we will see the C-Airplay concept, first revealed at the Bologna motor show.
The C-Airplay shows the way for the next Pluriel convertible and has see-through panels in the lower sections of the doors.
Touch-sensitive dash controls and pods for the main instruments give the C-Airplay a suitably funky interior.
Other Citroen highlights at Geneva are the C4 Hybride and a new 2.2 turbodiesel for the C5 range.
The C4 Hybride mixes the company's 1.6 HDi turbodiesel with an electric motor, particulate filter and Citroen's Stop-Start technology to make a car capable of 84mpg.
The C4 Hybride also reduces carbon dioxide emissions to 90g/km, about 25 per cent less than the standard 1.6 HDi engine.
The C5 gains a 2.2 turbodiesel engine with 173bhp and a six-speed manual gearbox, and the car goes on sale in the UK just after the Geneva show.
