Cayman Black Edition announced
If you exist in a universe of specific increments, for you, today will be exactly 10 per cent better than yesterday. Porsche has announced the ‘Black Edition' Cayman S.
It has a 3.4-litre flat six that is exactly 10bhp more powerful than the standard S. It is exactly 0.1 tenths of a second quicker to 62mph than the standard S (0.2 with the PDK box and 0.3 with launch control). Its top speed is exactly 1mph more than the standard S. Its wheels are exactly one inch bigger than those on the standard S.

No doubt the mpg and emissions will throw a spanner in your mercilessly regimented cerebrum, as both remain identical to the standard Cayman S. Frankly, this is unacceptable. We demand 1mpg more and 1g/km of CO2 less.
The Black Edition comes in a range of colours all named ‘black', and with the same colour and consistency as ‘black'. Standard stuff includes Xenon headlights, daytime LEDs, black leather, sport design steering wheel, ‘Black Edition' lettering and the Porsche Communication Management system with satnav and an audio interface.
Just 500 will be made, it goes on sale in September and prices start at £50,420, which is £2,800 more than the standard S. Erm, it's also just over a grand cheaper than the Cayman R. Think about that.
