Electric restomod specialist Lunaz has stopped making cars to restructure

As Applied Tech division goes into administration, Beckham-backed Silverstone EV firm pauses all operations

Published: 22 Mar 2024

A Silverstone-based purveyor of electrified classics backed by one David Beckham has - at least for now - stopped being the purveyor of such things. A spokesperson has confirmed to TopGear.com that Lunaz Group has paused all of its current operations as it seeks a restructure.

The Group is made up of two companies: the one with its order book full for the next two years that turns old Aston Martins and Bentleys and Range Rovers into hugely desirable electrified classics is called Lunaz Design, while the one that converts old lorries into electric ones is called Lunaz Applied Technology.

And the pause in operations stems from Lunaz Applied Technology recently entering administration, which developed into a company-wide cessation of business operations.

“The Lunaz Group is currently restructuring to adjust its business and operations in response to shifting market dynamic," Lunaz said. "These are caused by delays to the legislative requirement for fleets to transition to zero-emissions vehicles.

“All operating entities of the company have paused operations with an intent to restart under a new structure to meet current and future demand for the company’s passenger and commercial vehicle products. An announcement on the long-term future of the business will be made in due course.”
