Watch: James Bond’s Aston Martin DB10 burns rubber

“When you see the car in the movie, it’s not CGI. It’s got a real driver in it. It’s being pushed to its limits.”

So explained Aston’s design director Marek Reichmann, speaking to TopGear.com late last year about the new Aston Martin DB10. The DB10, remember, has been built specifically as a run of ten cars for the upcoming James Bond movie, Spectre.

And in this cool little video Aston has just released, you can see it very much being pushed to its limits by a real driver. And learning how to spell.

The video is simply titled ‘Built for Bond’, and shows Spectre stunt driver Mark Higgins – who has worked on earlier Bond films, in between scaring passengers senseless on the Isle of Man TT course in an Impreza WRX STi – on an undisclosed area of land, showcasing just how drifty, smokey and loud the new Aston is.

What can we tell you about DB10? It’s not the DB9’s production-bound successor, but a Spectre exclusive. It sits on a modified V8 Vantage chassis, lengthened and widened to One-77 levels, previews a hint of future Aston styling, gets a 4.7-litre V8 and – judging by the vid – a manual gearbox.

It also looks bloody gorgeous, and will play a significant role in the new film, as Marek explained to TG. “Let’s just say… there’s a relationship they [Bond and the DB10] have, and not in the way that he has a relationship with the Bond girls. That relationship becomes apparent in the movie…”
