McLaren will sell you a big £8k wing for your 570S

No sooner did we discover that an exceptionally fast car now comes without a big wing, we receive news that another exceptionally fast car comes with a big wing. Though McLaren’s Special Ops people call it, disappointingly, a ‘High Downforce Kit’.

It has been designed by MSO to slot onto the back of your 570S Coupe or 570S Spider, and add 75kg – a regular human being, perhaps – worth of downforce to aid stability during high-speed cornering.

Not just a wing, though. The High Downforce Kit also comprises new underfloor guide vanes for better airflow. The wing, finished in ‘visual carbon fibre’, is actually made of real carbon fibre and sits on gloss black aluminium pylons with grey inlays.

It’ll cost you £7,950, and fitment will take four hours at a McLaren dealer. So again, we put it to you: wing, or no wing?
