Kahn to build two-seater sports car

Published: 05 May 2015

You'll likely know British tuning outfit Kahn for its outlandish modifications of Land Rover produce - most recently, and unforgettably, the stretched Defender christened ‘Flying Huntsman'. Once seen, never unseen.

But as this teaser sketch suggests, the Bradford-based firm looks to be expanding from ambitious tuning to the generally more restrained world of coachbuilding.

This is your first sort-of-look at Kahn's upcoming ‘WB12 Vengeance', a two-door, all-aluminium coupe to be manufactured in Coventry.

Beyond describing its impending creation as a ‘new British retro classic', Kahn's staying mighty quiet on details. We know the ‘WB' stands for ‘widebody', while it's a fair bet the ‘12' denotes the number of cylinders. The silhouette is obviously front-engined, with a traditionally British cab-back stance.

Accordingly, we'd expect the Vengeance to be based on Aston Martin underpinnings - though as Fisker recently discovered, Gaydon doesn't always take so well to having its wares reskinned.

Knowing Kahn's penchant for power, we'd expect some fairly hefty upgrades in the engine department too.

Kahn promises we'll see the finished car in the coming weeks. Reckon it could be Britain's answer to the glorious Touring Disco Volante? Or is it dangerous to mess with design as timeless as Aston's?

Whatever the outcome, we can all agree on one thing. Vengeance is a far, far better name than Flying Huntsman, right?
