Holland is getting some limited-run Morgans
After Morgan said Dutch people can finally fit in its cars, some specials
When Morgan first showed off the Plus Six sports car at the 2019 Geneva motor show (remember ‘motor shows’?), its chief designer Jon Wells said its clever new platform meant the company might finally sell a decent number of cars in the Netherlands.
Um, why? Because there’s another 200mm of legroom, allowing taller people to finally buy the Morgan they’d always dreamed of, but never really fit into. And it seems Holland has a greater average height than some of the Malvern company’s other markets.
Well, perhaps as some sort of celebration, Dutch performance dealer Louwman Exclusive has made five special edition Morgans, though officially they mark the showroom’s 60th birthday. Those five cars comprise two matching pairs of Plus Sixes painted special colours as well as a 3 Wheeler, which is probably best suited for less lanky folk.
All of them feature a swathe of yellow detailing – including headlight and spotlight surrounds and a big 6 in the Plus Six’s grille – with the fully wheeled car available in Grijs or Blauw (Scintilla Silver or Ice Blue, according to the colour catalogue) and the sole partially wheeled car coming in Groen (Almond Green). They’ve all been crafted by Morgan’s clever design team in Malvern, which explains why they all look pretty damn good. Which would you have?
