Dacia Sandero
Good news! The Dacia Sandero arrived on UK shores in its second generation and immediately became the most affordable new car on the market. Prices have crept up since then, but the Sandero is still the cheap and cheerful option for basic motoring.

If you want to combine the Sandero’s basic motoring with a surprising amount of off-road ability and crossover desirability (no really), there’s nothing better than the Duster. The latest one can be had with petrol, diesel or bi-fuel petrol/LPG. As honest as cars come.
Dacia Logan N24
The Ollis Garage Racing Logan was a fan favourite at the Nürburgring 24 Hours as soon as it made its debut in the 2021 event. In 2022 it finished in 88th place, but in 2023 it was totalled by a fast-moving Porsche in the middle of the night. Rest in peace little thing.

Applying its usual simple, lightweight and affordable concept to electric vehicles ended up with Dacia launching the 44bhp, 143-mile Spring in Europe in 2021. After applying a few electric car grants you could get one for less than £10k in Germany. Bargain.
Dacia Duster Pickup
A Romanian market special revealed in 2020, the single cab Duster Pickup was the result of a collaboration with coachbuilder Romturingia. Pickups aren’t a new thing for Dacia though, it has been building them for decades for its enthusiastic home market.
Dacia Logan STCC
Perhaps a little more serious than the Logan N24, this Dacia Dealer Team creation for the Swedish Touring Car Championship used a 3.5-litre V6 and merely the outline of a standard Logan’s body. It raced for four seasons between 2013 and 2016, winning only once at its last ever attempt.
Dacia Jogger
Back to a bit of normality, the Jogger offers UK car buyers the option of a brand new seven-seater for just £18,295. Plus with a 1.0-litre 3cyl engine, a six-speed manual gearbox and an impressive 1,200kg kerbweight it’s surprisingly engaging to drive.

Back in 2011, Dacia decided that it wanted to take on the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, because why not? The Duster was chosen as the base for the project, but its sensible little engine was swapped for an 850bhp version of the Nissan GT-R’s 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6. Yikes.
Dacia Lodgy Glace
Another slightly rogue motorsport entry was Dacia’s Lodgy Glace for the French national ice racing championship. The budget MPV was fitted with a 355bhp 3.0-litre V6 and piloted to overall victory in 2011/12 by none other than Alain Prost.
