Aston Martin Vantage N400 news - Jet men beware - 2007
As last night's Top Gear proved, the gorgeous Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster is even quicker than a jet man.
And now the Roadster is set to be even quicker than something that's even quicker than a jet man, as Aston has announced a special edition of its Vantage drop top, with even more power and sharper handling.
It's called the Vantage N400, the number referring to the horsepower on tap. The Vantage's 4.3-litre V8 has been fettled to produce an extra 20bhp, bringing overall power to a neat 400bhp. Torque is up a smidge to 309lb ft, too, and though Aston is staying schtum on the N400's performance figures, we'd expect a modest improvement over the stock Vantage Roadster's 0-60mph time of 4.9 seconds.
The extra power is complemented by Aston's 'Sport Pack' which includes uprated springs and dampers to minimise body roll and keep things stable at pace.
Naturally, there are a few cosmetic adjustments, too - Aston anoraks will notice the revised side sill design, side strake meshes and the clear rear lamp lenses a la DBS.
The N400 will be limited to a run of 240 cars, so expect Roadster-versus-jet-man drag races to remain a rare sight.
