£9m+ Ferrari haul up for auction
Warning: this story may contain some facts that require you to breathlessly scurry off into the darker recesses of The Internet in order to a) assess the value of your internal organs and b) find out how quickly you can sell your pets.
Because an astonishing haul of 16 Ferraris is coming up for auction next month, including a pristine example of each of the company's superlative, halo hypercars. Got your attention yet?
It's an exclusive sale at the annual Concorso D'Eleganza Villa D'Este weekend, hosted on the glorious banks of Lake Como in Italy by RM Auctions. And the roster of Ferraris they've managed to rustle together is incredible.
Take a deep breath: there's the 650bhp Enzo, fully certified by Ferrari Classiche and one of just 400 built (chassis number 138347) with 1,028km on the clock and an estimate of €880,000 (£755k); there's a Ferrari F50, car number 283 from a production run of just 349, complete with a 520bhp V12 and ‘low-mileage', up for around €480,000 (£411k); you'll find the rather splendiferous - and raucous - Ferrari F40, possibly the most iconic Ferrari hypercar ever built, with 40,000km on the clock, a full Ferrari Classiche certification and recent service, estimated to sell for €420,000 (£360k); then there's a Ferrari 288 GTO, chassis number 54777, built in February 1985, certified by Ferrari and carrying just 34,960km on it from new - yours for around €950,000 (£813k).
And rounding off Ferrari's top dogs is the 599XX: that 720bhp, 6.0-litre V12-engined hypercar that sits as one of the company's most powerful. The car up for auction is number 25 of just 29 produced (chassis number 170895), has been stored in Maranello since new and comes with an estimate of €1,100,000. (£942,000).
You'll also find a brace of 250s, a pair of 365s and even a 1962 400 Superamerica SWB Coupe estimated to sell for €2,200,000 (£1.9m). On top of that, there's a rather beautiful Porsche 356 Speedster, a Jaguar XJ220, a Lamborghini Miura, and even a 1930 Bugatti Type 46 Coupe.
Have a click through the gallery for a preview - the sale will take place on 25 May, so stay tuned to TopGear.com for the results. Which is your favourite hyper Ferrari, good folk of TopGear.com - 288 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo, or, bringing in the new boy, the new LaFerrari?
