Buy a Detroit car factory for £622k
So, you like cars, and you have a shade over half a mill' in the bank. What to do? Second-hand Veyron? One of Will dot I dot Am's divisive creations? Couple of SLS Blacks? Or AN ENTIRE CAR FACTORY?
Yep, for £622,400 you can buy the old Packard factory in Detroit, USA. It's being auctioned off due to tax delinquency - the owner owed around $975,000 (£622,400) on the 43 plots of land that make up the site, which is where bidding's set to start at September's Wayne County auction, likely to happen between Sept. 20 and Sept. 26
Admittedly, the abandoned estate does need a little work - built in 1903, and with a 3.5 million square foot footprint, it closed its doors in 1958, and has since been vandalized, pillaged and dismantled by trophy hunters.
But its sale begs the question - what would you do with the legendary manufacturing site?
