Mitsubishi Motors is set to offer the United Kingdom the exclusive option of still not buying a Mitsubishi, sources have revealed to TopGear.com.
The Japanese carmaker, which left the UK market five years ago, is now scheduled to return in a limited capacity and will reportedly offer a special box to tick on its UK order forms unavailable to the rest of the world.
Sitting alongside such offerings as ‘heated seats’, ‘premium audio’ and 'build a Lancer Evolution XI immediately' will be the opportunity to tick the option that reads ‘nah’.
“Mitsubishi Motors is excited to deliver exciting new vehicles from our global line-up for UK customers to exclusively ignore once again,” a source said.
“Last time we were operating on this island, our customers greatly enjoyed the option of not buying a Mitsubishi and spending their money on other cars instead.
“So we can’t wait to build on that legacy to once again provide UK buyers with the exclusive opportunity unavailable anywhere else in the world to still not buy a Mitsubishi car.
“We look forward to the UK market yet again ignoring our core principles of performance, efficiency and shared technology available in our line-up,” the source added.
Another idea reportedly being discussed is the option of reintroducing the Mk1 Shogun.
