Man with outstretched arms in YouTube thumbnail just wants a hug

Online presenter standing next to car actually in need of urgent emotional support

Here’s TopGear.com’s roving correspondent, Cory Spondent, with his mostly incorrect exclusives from the world of motoring

A man with his arms outstretched in a YouTube thumbnail has revealed he really just wants a hug.

The new video thumbnail shows the man with a painfully forced smile standing next to a new car with his arms fully extended; the fifth video the man has published so far this week.

But speaking to TopGear.com, he revealed the image isn’t a dramatic gesture introducing the new vehicle in an eye-catching manner to draw attention, but instead a coded plea for help and emotional support due to the stress of online publishing.

“In the beginning I was more than happy to stand up, spread my arms far and wide and look as though I was winning an Oscar in every thumbnail. I loved my life.

"But then I discovered the algorithm is trickier to manage than a Jaguar F-Type V8 on a cold Tuesday morning. Sometimes I get millions of views, sometimes I have to ask my mum to watch it ten times to double the ratings.

"I’ve watched every YouTube video on YouTube about how to win at YouTube, but now I’m more confused than ever. Honestly, I just want a really big hug."

The man was later seen filming his intro while a single tear rolled down his cheek. “Don’t forget to smash that like button!"
