Amazon Autos car delivery found upside down behind bin
Consumer finds new car in unexpected place
Here’s TopGear.com’s roving correspondent, Cory Spondent, with his mostly incorrect exclusives from the world of motoring
A motorist has found their new car upside down behind a bin following a delivery from Amazon Autos.
While browsing the US e-commerce website for toothbrush heads, cheap dog food and bulk-buy washing-up liquid, the shopper added ‘compact SUV’ into their cart in a bid to get everything done at once.
But despite clicking ‘prime’ and waiting at home all day for the large parcel, the car was delivered late and tossed unceremoniously from the side of a van that blocked the entire street.
“I cancelled all my plans and spent the entire day refreshing the ‘track parcel’ page, but it froze, only showing the driver was miles away.
“That was at the start of the week. Then I get a notification three days later saying my parcel – a fancy new compact SUV that I really can’t remember the name of – had been delivered.
“Sure enough, I look outside and find the thing upside down behind the bin. And not even my bin. The neighbour’s bin.
“Classic. And they’ve delivered my toothbrush heads to the wrong address again, which is three streets away. I can’t go and collect them because they’ve sent me the wrong car.”
