Meet the “Super Stylish Slope Device”

This is the Super Stylish Slope Device, a £52,000 mobile DJ booth that'll get up a piste, down a sand dune and into our folder marked AWESOME.

Called the "super stylisches pistengerät" by its Austrian owner (which Google tells us means "super stylish slope device"), it's the amalgam of a 1966 Volkswagen T1 bus, late sixties Bombardier B01 Spurgrat snowmobile, and DJ rig.

That means it's got a fully retractable roof, 1,000-watt subwoofer, five-channel Behringer mixer, and the devices necessary to play redundant music formats beloved of electronic music enthusiasts. And its owner, Bernd Berger, tells us the whole thing transforms from vehicle to booth in just three minutes. Oh, and there's sand tracks for summer duties too.

It's powered by the combination of a Ford Taunus V4 and supplementary Honda generator for the bangin' tunes. But it's not what you'd call fast. It is what you'd call slow - it tops out at 9 mph and weighs more than two tonnes, which means that during promotional events (that's why Berger started building it way back in 2005), it's taken some interesting routes up the slopes.
