Longbridge’s last Mini for sale

Published: 17 May 2013

This will be the last Mini to ever leave the infamous Longbridge factory, once the pride of British Leyland's empire. It's a 1275GT Clubman and it's just been heaved out of the tunnels underneath the plant, where it's been dormant for the last 30 years.

So why was It there in the first place? It was used by staff to travel around the sprawling site and was secretly dumped by workers in the late seventies after a storage container fell on it. However, photos of the famous ‘lost' Mini emerged and after much searching it was saved by a former factory worker who got permission to remove it in 2012 shortly before the tunnels were due to be filled in.
