This is a Jaguar XE ‘R-S’
Earlier this week, Jaguar finally revealed its XE saloon; a small four-door to do battle with the BMW 3-Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. It looks good. It looks red. And it's quite fast.
But... not quite fast enough. Though the current range-topper stands at the XE ‘S' and its healthy 335bhp supercharged V6 and healthier still 0-62mph time of 5.1 seconds, we couldn't help wondering how a proper blood ‘n thunder Jaguar XE might look.
Luckily, our good friend Jon Sibal indulged our enthusiasm for fast and created for TG a very fast XE. Here then, is an entirely fictional though quite probable example of what the Jaguar XE ‘R-S' might look. And you have to agree, it looks bloody brilliant.
Mr Sibal took the XE's shiny new silhouette, lowered it, and added a more aggressive front bumper, a blacked out front grill and wing trim, new wheels, and a vented bonnet.
He then decked it all out in the special blue hue Jaguar reserves for its R-S cars, whacked on an R-S badge and added the cherry of a Mighty Rear Wing.
Of course, Jaguar hasn't breathed a word about the XE ‘R-S', nor even an XE ‘R', but should one ever appear, it could carry the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 lump doing excellent - and slightly lairy - service in the F-Type R. 542bhp is our favourite flavour of window, thanks.
As mentioned many times, it's really NOT REAL AT ALL, but as a flight of fancy, is a good thing. Let Jon know your thoughts on his creation in the space below. And Jaguar, if you're listening, please make it so.
