Make your journeys screen-free and safe with OOONO

The modern car journey comes littered with hazards and distractions, so it only makes sense to have a CO-DRIVER

Sometimes it feels like you can’t just start the engine and go anymore. Any mildly significant journey in 2025 seems to involve a half-hour buffer and at least one screen for navigation – whether you know where you’re going or not. Then you have to account for snarl ups, roadworks and varying speed limits. When did it all get so complicated?

Well, fear not, because Danish security tech supremo OOONO (yes, three Os) is here to unscramble your driving experiences. Its CO-DRIVER NO1 and CO-DRIVER NO2 devices come with a raft of handy features that are there to give you all the information you need on the road, and absolutely none that you don’t.

Crucially, they do this without any screens, so you can keep your eyes firmly fixed on the tarmac. In stressful, busy situations, every second can make a difference, so read on to discover how these two smart yet simple bits of tech can help keep you safe out there.

They’re discreet

OOONO traffic safety device on the dashboard of a Range Rover Unlike the countless navigation apps with hazard detection technology out there, neither CO-DRIVER models need to be fired up each time you want to use them. After you’ve done the initial set-up of your device with the app on your phone, all you need to do on each journey have your phone with you, and you can be on your way.

Road crashes accounted for more than 1,600 fatalities and almost 30,000 serious injuries in the UK last year. Perhaps even more shockingly, a third of road accidents are caused by inattention, including the use of mobile phones.

That’s why – instead of a bright, potentially distracting screen – both CO-DRIVER models ensure you don’t suffer from information overload while driving. Alerts come in the form of an optional beeping sound and an unobtrusive flashing light. That’s it.

They know what’s coming

OOONO’s most basic model, CO-DRIVER NO1, will notify you both when you’re approaching one of more than 100,000 speed cameras in the UK, and when there any hazards on the road, such as stranded cars, congestion and accidents.

CO-DRIVER NO2 also does this, however, it also tells you whenever you exceed the speed limit wherever you are – a setting that’s fully adjustable to minimise interruptions. Plus, it comes with a rechargeable battery and a magnetic mount.

When delivered in the right way, warnings will increase your focus. Whether it’s an accident coming up or a speed camera, which are usually placed in areas with higher risks of accidents, you’ll know and can prepare for it appropriately.

They’re driven by data

So how does CO-DRIVER know what’s out there? The technology runs on OOONO’s proprietary software, which has been developed over two decades. It can pinpoint an accurate geo-corridor for each and every location of a safety camera within the database, giving drivers tailored and smart alerts.

This data is also combined with user-generated feedback from a community of drivers who feed into the database via the OOONO app, creating a safer road for all. In fact, the device works in more than 80 countries, so you’ll have an extra line of defence next time you take an overseas road trip, too.

They’re easy to use

Ultimately, given the average UK car journey is just over 20 minutes, you likely don’t use satnav every time you drive, but CO-DRIVER is the way to maximise the safety of every single inch you cover, whether you’re popping to the local supermarket or taking on a multi-motorway marathon.

Safety is more than just airbags and seatbelts, so fight back against distractions and join a community of millions of drivers here
