When you go electric, it goes without saying that you need your new car to slot into your life as seamlessly as possible, whether for work or leisure. Thanks to Škoda’s fully electric Enyaq 85 Edition – which arrived on UK roads this November – making the switch is effortless and affordable.

Available as an elegant Coupé or dynamic SUV, the Enyaq 85 Edition builds on the multi-award-winning success of its predecessor, the Enyaq 80. Benefitting from improved performance and range, fast charging and even more innovative technology as standard, the 85 Edition reinforces the Enyaq’s reputation as one of the best all-rounders in its class.

The Enyaq 85 Edition is the perfect option for company car and salary sacrifice scheme drivers looking for a car that delivers on all fronts – from efficiency and practicality to performance, technology and value.

Read on to discover just a handful of its countless outstanding features.

Both the Coupé and SUV come with an abundance of technology as standard, elevating your driving experience every time you get behind the wheel.

The Enyaq 85 Edition’s redesigned 13” infotainment touchscreen means everything you need – whether that’s vehicle information, navigation, climate control or the state-of-the-art entertainment system – is even easier to locate and use.

But there’s more – a lot more, in fact. Seamless integration with the Škoda Connect app also means you can remotely control the car’s temperature, so by the time you get in it on a blazing hot or icy cold day, you’re comfortable from the word go.

When you start your journey, tri-zone climate control allows you to set three ‘autonomous comfort zones’ – for the driver, front passenger and rear passengers – to keep everyone happy.

A heated multi-function steering wheel, heated front seats and electric driver’s seat with memory function tops things off.

As eye-catching as the SUV and Coupé both are, you needn’t worry about flashy distractions. The augmented reality head-up display, which benefits from improved graphics, shows key driving data in a way that’s easy to absorb at a glance, while virtual driving information – such as speed, navigation and adaptive cruise control – is shown directly on the road in front of the vehicle.

You’ll discover all the standard safety features you’d expect in any Škoda worth its salt – namely airbags everywhere you could possibly want them, lane assist and ISOFIX child seat compatibility for both rear and front seats – but the Enyaq 85 Edition goes even further.

Blind Spot Detection – included as standard – warns you about vehicles in your blind spot up to 20 metres away. A handy LED symbol in the wing mirror will light up to draw your attention to the car next to you or approaching from behind.

Another standout feature available with both the SUV and Coupé is eCall, which automatically sends an SOS signal for help in the event of an emergency on the road. It’s triggered as soon as the sensors in the airbags or seatbelts register a major accident. Plus, for extra peace of mind, you can also switch it on yourself with the manual SOS button, so you can call the emergency services directly about your incident or one you might have witnessed.

  • A man charging his the Škoda Enyaq 85 Edition

This is what you really came here for, isn’t it? Well, when it comes to range, it’s very good news. A raft of refinements to battery and energy management software means the Enyaq 85 Edition delivers up to 348 miles (WLTP) from a single charge.

Increased connectivity can help make every single one of those miles as cost-efficient as possible, too. Remote charging allows you to control your car’s battery charging, wherever you are.

Not only can you track the status of the charge, but you can also set a predetermined charging time to help with off-peak charging, thanks to the Smart Schedule function. What’s more, Smart Schedule allows you to create different charging settings based on the car’s location, for example if you want to charge it at home or while at work.

Charging times are just as impressive. With fast charging capability, both the SUV and Coupé can be charged from 10-80% in as little as 28 minutes. And if that’s not enough, performance has also been enhanced. Delivering 286 PS as standard, the Enyaq 85 Edition can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 6.7 seconds. That’s 1.8 seconds quicker than the Enyaq 80.

Both inside and out, the Enyaq 85 Edition offers a host of clever features to make your life easier, whether you’re travelling for work or on a family road trip.

Adaptive cruise control automatically shoulders some of the burden of long-distance driving, adjusting your speed to match the car in front – slowing down and speeding up while making sure you keep a safe distance. And when you’ve reached your destination, parking is reduced to mere child’s play, thanks to front and rear-view parking sensors and the rear-view camera.

But it’s not just driving features that’ll help take the sting out of your day. If it’s pouring with rain, for instance, not only will you find a Škoda umbrella included, but it even has its own special compartment in the driver's door.

In fact, the Enyaq 85 Edition is such an all-round triumph in storage design that you’ll look forward to loading it.

This starts with opening the boot itself, which you can do hands-free thanks to the Virtual Pedal – just wave your foot under the sensor on the rear bumper and bingo, the boot opens automatically. Perfect when you’ve got your hands full.

Better still, the rear seats can be folded down using a remote release button, while cargo elements and a series of retractable nets can be used to hold items in place while in transit. Pull up the floor of the boot and you’ll even find a smart storage compartment for practical items such as charging cables, brushes, gloves and more.

The Enyaq 85 Edition is available via salary sacrifice, making it more affordable than ever.

Salary sacrifice schemes can provide employees with access to brand-new electric cars, with a portion of your pre-tax income used to fund the vehicle’s monthly payments.

This can lead to impressive income tax and National Insurance savings when compared to leasing an electric vehicle personally.

As an employee, you’ll pay company car tax (Benefit-in-Kind) on the vehicle, but attractive rates of just 2% mean salary sacrifice is becoming an increasingly popular way to go electric.
