You might never need to pay for EV charging again
The Hypervolt Home 3 Pro is Britain’s highest rated EV charger, built in the UK, and comes with customer support 365 days a year, all powered by solar…
From performance and range to price points and financial trade-offs, you’re probably already well-versed in the considerations that come with switching to an EV. But it all starts with the charger, as home charging is where you can enjoy even more value for money, while shrinking your carbon footprint in the process.
Given the difference a good charger can make, it’s almost as important a decision as which car you choose. That’s why, when Hypervolt was established in 2021, the mission of its co-founder and CEO, Flavian Alexandru, was to pave the way for the next generation of EV motorists. And the British manufacturer’s latest model, the beautifully designed Hypervolt Home 3 Pro, promises to make home EV charging simpler and more rewarding for drivers than ever before.
The Hypervolt chargers are sturdy and robust. The Hypervolt app is very good and packs numerous features such as scheduling your charge at certain times, provides a cost of your last charge and last few charges if you enter the cost per kWh. You can even configure your LEDs brightness and moods.
– Trustpilot review
Thanks to its sleek design, faultless performance and intuitive app, it’s garnered endless glowing testimonials from customers on Trustpilot. Couple that with friendly, helpful and, crucially, human consultative advice provided by retailer partner Volta, and you’ll find Hypervolt has truly changed the game.
Say hello to Home 3 Pro
Aside from it being manufactured right here in the UK, what makes this such a good charger? Well that’s mostly down to tech. Whereas most EV charging manufacturers contract out manufacturing, app and software development, Hypervolt does it all in house. Its team comprises an eclectic and talented group of eco-warriors drawn from a vast array of Fortune 500 firms, who have built something truly special: an ecosystem which echoes their founder’s obsession with customer experience.
When you order your Home 3 Pro, you’ll get 5m of cable included, but if you need more flex, there are also 7.5m and 10m options available. And each of these cables are tethered: what that means is that the cable that plugs into your car is attached and neatly wound around the charger. These can weigh anywhere from five to 10kg, so there’s no need to carry it in and out of the car every time you want to charge. Simply unplug, wrap and drive away.
Charge Faster and Smarter with Hypervolt
Energy prices are remaining stubbornly high, so it’s welcome news that Hypervolt’s scheduled charging, tracking home power generation data and cost control through consumption reports allow customers to track their usage and spend.
You’ll find the savings keep coming thanks to Hypervolt’s smart charging technology, which allows the charger to take advantage of cheaper energy tariffs to ensure you’re always getting the best bang for your buck. If you plug in at night, it can use data from your smart meter to ensure it only charges when electricity is at its cheapest. Integrated cost control also means you can view cost reports and schedule your charges accordingly via the app. All this means that a standard range Model 3/Y Tesla, for example, could be charged for as little as £3.50 using OVO’s Charge Anytime tariff.
In addition, if you’re looking to maximise your carbon savings, you can enjoy compatibility with all types of solar panel, so making the investment now really could see you charging your car for free forever. Driving an EV and charging from the grid saves around 37.5 tonnes of CO2e over the vehicle’s lifetime1, but this is massively increased through solar charging, for which Hypervolt has just announced a revolutionary partnership with US giant Enphase.
Meet the Hypervolt App
And how do you control the charger if there’s no screen on it? Having a touchscreen might seem convenient, however these degrade in the UV light, and it doesn’t help when you’re lying in bed having forgotten to set the schedule. The Hypervolt App centralises all of this.
There are three main modes for charging:
- Boost: meaning the charger uses as much power from whichever source is available to charge, perfect if you have a cheap overnight tariff.
- Eco: this tops up whatever power the charger is drawing from your solar panels with power from the grid.
- Super-Eco: solar matching, the greenest way to charge.
Connected via the cloud, not only can you remotely control, lock and schedule from anywhere on the globe, but with Hypervolt’s unique Multi-Mode Scheduling tool, you can set schedules depending on the weather, your routine and times of the day. So if it’s a particularly warm and sunny day, you can set the car to charge between 11am and 4pm, when the sun is highest in the sky, and then set to Boost mode between 00:30 and 04:30 to take advantage of a cheap overnight rate.
And let’s not forget, the app lets you control those signature LEDs:
